Aaron Fritch has been with the Texas Department of Public Safety since 2005 and currently services as a UAS Captain the Aircraft Operations Division. Aaron began working with UAS in 2013 when his unit began testing the DJI Phantom for crash scene photography. He later joined a working group tasked with developing the department's first Standard Operating Procedures for UAS operations in 2016.
Since 2022, Aaron has overseen all UAS operations for the department, which includes nearly 300 RPICs and more t h a n 300 UAS. He's an FAA Part 107 pilot and one of the lead instructors for the Texas DPS RPIC school where he has trained over 300 pilots. Aaron is also aNIST Proctor certified through the APSA.
